Bangladesh received a huge blow ahead of their crucial third and final T20 International against Zimbabwe as the captain Nurul Hasan Sohan was ruled out of the match with a finger injury.
The wicketkeeper batsman hurt his left index finger while keeping against fast bowler Hasan Mahmud during the second T20 international at the Harare Sports Club which Bangladesh won by 7 wickets. By virtue of this victory Bangladesh leveled the three-match series 1-1, making the third and final game a decided, reports BSS.
But the injury not only ruled Sohan out of the match but also put him out of the remainder of the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe too.
Also his participation in Asia Cup T20, which starts on August 27 at UAE is in doubt now. Even though he is said to be ruled out for three weeks, there is concern about his match fitness after recovering from the injury.
Bangladesh physio Muzadded Alpha Sany said: "We did an X-ray which revealed a fracture to the index finger.
"Such injuries take about three weeks to recover from. He is therefore out of Tuesday's last T20 match and the upcoming ODI series."
