BNP's expanses Tk 1.14cr higher than earnings in 2021

BNP has spent around Taka 1.14 crore more than its earnings in 2021 as it spent about Tk 1.98 crore while the party's earnings was Tk 84.12 lakh during the period.

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed disclosed the information to journalists after submitting its annual financial report to the Election Commission (EC) at Agargaon Nirbachan Bhaban here today.

EC secretary Md Humayun Kabir Khandaker received it.

According to the report, BNP's earnings came from the monthly donation of committee members, selling of nomination forms, donations from individuals and institutions, and Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR).

Their expenses included salaries and bonuses of employees, bills for supplements, and office expanses.

According to the Political Parties Registration Law of the Representation of People Order (RPO), there is a provision to submit an account of expenses and earnings in the previous colander year of every registered political party within July 31 to the EC.

If any party fails to submit it for three consecutive years, EC can scrap its registration. Now there are 39 registered political parties.
