First namaz-e-janaza of Deputy Speaker held

The first namaz-e-janaza of Deputy Speaker of the Parliament and freedom fighter advocate Md Fazle Rabbi Miah was held at Jatiya Eidgah in the capital at 10:45am on Monday. 

Chief Justice Hasan Foyez Siddiqui, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, Fisheries Minister SM Rezaul Karim and Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzak were present among others during this time. 

Earlier, a flight of Emirates Airlines (EK-582) carrying the body of Deputy Speaker landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from New York at 8.40am.

Then the body was taken to the Supreme Court premises.

He will be taken to Saghata upazila in Gaibandha at 3pm and his namaz-e-janaza will be held at Bharatkhali High School. Later, he will buried at his family graveyard. 

On July 22, Fazle Rabbi Miah, Parliament Member of Gaibandha-5 constituency, passed away in New York while undergoing treatment there.

He had been suffering from cancer for a long.
