Three people, including a couple, were killed as a private car plunged into a roadside ditch in Debidwar upazila of Comilla district on Sunday morning.
The deceased were identified as Gias Uddin Mahmud Farazi, 52, a resident of Banani Para area in Sadar upazila of Feni district, his wife Zahanara Akter, 48, and her sister Salma Akter Nazma, 45.
Ilyatganj Highway Police Outpost in-charge Premdhan Majumder fell into a roadside ditch on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Saharpar area around 7:15 am, leaving three dead on the spot.
Gias Uddin himself drove the vehicle, Premdhan added.
