Mild heat wave may continue in parts of country

The ongoing mild heat wave is likely to continue in different parts of the country, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing 9am on Saturday, reports BSS.

"Mild heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and the districts of Tangail, Sylhet and Chuadanga and it may continue," said the bulletin.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers with temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions," it added.

However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Friday was recorded 39.0 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur, while the minimum temperature today was recorded 26.0 degrees Celsius at Rangamati.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 15mm at Sylhet.

The sun sets at 6.49 pm today and rises at 5.21 am tomorrow in the capital.
