Tapas for completing ‘qurbani’ witthin 2nd day of Eid

Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), has called for completing in qurbani (sacrifices) within the second day of Eid, reports BSS.

"We notice that many people slaughter the sacrificial animals on the third day of Eid... Let everyone complete the sacrifices by the second day of Eid," he said.

"Cleaners works for hours that is why they need rest, they need Eid holidays", he said.

He made the call while talking to reporters after inspecting the overall preparatory activities of the main Eid Jamaat at the National Eidgah Maidan on Saturday afternoon, said a press release.

"As always, a huge task has been undertaken for the management of sacrificial animal waste," he said and added, "We are engaged in a huge task, we are hopeful that we would be able to remove all the waste within 24 hours, as we did in the past," Taposh said.

He said all preparations have been completed for the main Eid Jamaat at the National Eidgah and the main Eid Jamaat will be held at the National Eidgah Maidan at 8 am tomorrow, where 35,000 devotees will be able to participate in the Eid Jamaat together.

At this time, he greeted the people of Dhaka in advance on Eid and requested them to perform prayers at the National Eidgah following the hygiene rules.
