The government issued nine instructions for the worshipers to follow in performing prayers with jamaat at mosques to contain the coronavirus rise.
Besides, the same will have to be followed at other religious places of worship.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs disclosed the directives in an urgent press release on Tuesday.
The instructions are:
Hand sanitizer/hand washing system should be available at the entrance, and the worshipers must wear masks; People will come to the mosques after performing ablutions and Sunnat prayers at home; Carpet cannot be laid on the mosque floor, and the entire mosque would be cleaned with detergent before five times prayers; Social distancing would have to be ensured in the queue of prayers with jamaat; Children, elderly people, any sick person, or people engaged in the treatment of the ill will refrain from taking part in jamaat; Mosque authorities will keep soap/hand sanitizer at mosque ablutions; People must follow the instructions of the Cabinet Division, Health Department, local administration, and law enforcement agencies; Khatib, Imam, and worshipers will pray to all-merciful Allah after prayers to get rid of the coronavirus pandemic and Khatib, Imam, and mosque governing body will ensure implementation of the instructions.RMM/SU
