As many as 42 people have died in flood-affected areas across the country due to diarrhea, snake bites, drowning, injuries, and different other causes.
Of them, 21 passed away in the Sylhet division while 18 in Mymensingh, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said this in a statement on Wednesday.
Signed by Dr Md Zahidul Islam, the in-charge of the health emergency operation center and control room of DGHS, the statement said around 403 people were infected with various water-borne diseases, including diarrhea in the floor-hit areas.
