304 more Covid cases, zero death recorded in 24 hrs

The Bangladesh government reported 304 more Coronavirus cases and zero death in the last 24 hours.

With this, the total number of infections increased to 19,55,731 and the fatalities remain at 29,131. 

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Saturday.

The new cases were found after testing 5,122 samples in the past day.

During the period, 47 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total recoveries to 19,05,758.

Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020. 

The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.

To date, the epidemic infected 543,773,475 people and killed 6,339,806 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.

However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 518,941,004 across the world.
