4 killed in Chattogram landslides

Four people were killed in separate landslides in Chattogram due to heavy rainfall early Saturday. 

Six people including four of a family were buried after a landslide occurred in the hilly area of Barishalghona under Akbar Shah thana of the city around 1:30am. 

Two sisters named Shahinur Akter, 30 and Mahinur Akter, 20 were killed and their parents injured in the incident. 

Fire Service members recued them and rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH). 

Mohammad Wali Uddin Akbar, Officer-in-charge of Akbar Shah Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

On the other hand, two brothers named Liton, 21 and his brother Emon, 14, were also killed in another landslide at Bijoynagar Lake City area of the same thana around 3am. 

Agrabad Fire Service Senior Officer Enamul Haque told Jago News that two brothers were rescued and sent to the CMCH.
