PM’s speech disappoints nation: BNP

BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan on Monday said nation is being frustrated and agitated as Prime Minister Sheikh Hsaina said loudly that national unity has been formed already against militancy and terrorism.Terming Prime Minister Sheikh Hsaina’s view about national unity as arrogance the BNP leader also said that BNP will continue its call to form national unity against terrorism and Islamist militancy.He came up with these remarks in a press briefing at Patry’s central office in city’s Naya Palton in the noon.He alleged that militancy has been raised due to erroneous policy of the Awami League government.The senior leader claimed that national unity without BNP and its allies could not be national unity but allies’ unity.Earlier, on July 3, after deadly terrorist attack at Gulshan Holey Artisan Bakery on July 1-2 where gunman killed 22 people including 17 foreigners and 22 police officials, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia urged the government to extend its support to the party`s national unity initiative to curb militancy and extremism in Bangladesh.
