Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested one of the top loan defaulters of the country Maksudur Rahman from Gulshan area in Dhaka on Wednesday night.
Maksudur is the Managing Director of Ratanpur Steel Re-Rolling Mills Ltd (RSRM).
RAB’s Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moeen confirmed the matter to Jago News.
He said, Maksudur is a one of the top load defaulters of the country and a wanted accused. Based on specific information, he have been arrested.
Earlier on January 26, Chattogram Orthoreen Adalat in a ruling, barred Maksudur from leaving the country for a loan default case involving around Tk313 crore.
According to the Orthoreen Adalat, Janata Bank filed the case on 29 March 2018 to realise Tk312 crore 82 lakh from M/S Ratanpur Ship Recycling Industries Ltd, a sister concern of RSRM.
