Bangladesh on Tuesday reported 26 cases of Covid-19 in a day, taking the overall tally of infections to 1,953,507.
But no new fatalities were registered in the 24 hours, keeping the death toll from the disease unchanged at 29,131.
In the last 24 hours, 4,250 samples were examined and out of them 26 got positive results for the virus. Apart from, 169 more recovered from the disease, taking the total recoveries to 1,902,760, the press release added.
Bangladesh reported its first three cases of COVID-19 on March 8 in 2020.
The new coronavirus pandemic first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December in 2019.
The World Health Organisation declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11 in 2020.
The deadly virus spread to 228 countries and territories, killing 6,312,142 people globally, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
As many as 532,219,751 people worldwide caught the virus. Among them, 503,188,396 people recovered from the virus, the website said.
