A Dhaka University (DU) student drowned in a pond of Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haq Hall on the campus on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Polash Ahmed, a student of Anthropology department.
He breathed his last at 2:25pm while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
According to the source, Polash drowned in the pond while bathing. Later, his friends and the hall students rescued him and sent him to DMCH. He was on life-support before his death.
Professor Dr Abdur Rahim, Provost of the hall, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
