Veteran journalist, columnist, and writer Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury was buried at the Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard at Mirpur in the capital of Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.
He was buried beside his wife Selima Afroz Chowdhury's grave there around 5:30 pm after his namaz-e-janaza at Jatiya Press Club premises at about 4 pm.
Earlier, a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying his body reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:05 am.
Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury, 88, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in London on May 19. He had suffered from various old age complications.
