Two cases have been filed over the clashes between Dhaka College students and New Market traders, accusing a total of 1200 people.
The two lawsuits - one for attacking police and another under Explosives Act - were lodged with New Market Police Station.
The police station officer in-charge SM Kaiyum confirmed the matter to Jago News on Thursday morning.
He said a case was filed against 300 unidentified traders and shop workers of New Market, and 700 unknown students of Dhaka College for attacking the law enforcers.
In another case filed under Explosives Act, 150 to 200 unidentified people were accused, he added.
Earlier on Monday midnight, Dhaka College students and New Market traders-workers clashed and chased-counter-chased in New Market area in the capital of Dhaka.
Later, the situation was brought to control but a clash erupted again on Tuesday morning.
Two people - Nahid Hasan, a courier worker, and Md Mursalin, 24, a shop worker - were killed in the clashes.
