Bangladesh logged 28 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total caseload to 19,52,023.
As per the latest government data, the country’s total fatalities remained unchanged at 29,123 as no death was reported during the period.
Directorate General of Health Services confirmed the information through a press release on Saturday.
In the last 24 hours, 4,491 samples were examined and out of them 28 got positive results for the virus. Apart from, 610 more recovered from the disease, taking the total recoveries to 1,887,933, the press release added.
Bangladesh reported its first three cases of COVID-19 on March 8 in 2020.
The new coronavirus pandemic first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December in 2019.
The World Health Organisation declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11 in 2020.
The deadly virus spread to 225 countries and territories, killing 6,199,793 people globally, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
As many as 497,892,294 people worldwide caught the virus. Among them, 433,516,032 people recovered from the virus, the website said.
