Controversial e-commerce site Evaly chairman Shamima Nasrin has been released from jail.
She walked out of Kashimpur Women’s Central Jail around 5:45pm on Wednesday.
Senior Jail Superintendent Halima Khatun confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Halima said, Shamima was in jail from September 21, last year, in a case filed with Dhanmondi Police Station. She was released on Wednesday afternoon after her bail papers reached the jail on Tuesday.
On September 17, last year, Kamrul Islam Chokdar, a businessman, filed the case against 12 including Shamima Nasrin and her husband Evaly Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Rassel over embezzlement of money.
Earlier, on September 16, RAB arrested the couple during a raid at their flat in the capital’s Mohammadpur after a customer filed a case with Gulshan Police Station over embezzlement.
