The public transport owners have decided to operate buses in Dhaka city, suburbs, and inter-district routes during Monday's half-day hartal.
Dhaka Road Transport Owners' Association general secretary Khandaker Enayet Ullah made the announcement in a press release on Saturday.
The decision was taken in a joint meeting of Dhaka's transport owners-workers held today with Khandaker Enayet Ullah in the chair, the release said.
Mentioning that the transport owners and workers don't support the hartal called on 'illogical and lame excuses', the speakers at the meeting said bus, mini-bus will run in Dhaka city, suburbs, and inter-district routes defying the hartal.
Earlier on March 11, the Left Democratic Alliance (LDA), a platform of left-leaning political parties, announced to observe a half-day hartal on March 28.
The leftist leaders had said the government has failed to control the prices of essential commodities, and they urged all to observe the programme.
