The election to Bangladesh Bar Council, the central body of lawyers, is started across the country. The casting of votes began around 10am Wednesday and it will continue till 5pm at 77 polling centres.Bar Council Assistant Director Nazmul Ahsan said, 43,302 lawyers will cast their votes to elect the 14-member executive body out of 61 contestants.The Bangladesh Bar Council elections are held every three years. The 14-member executive body elect the vice-chairman while the attorney general is given the post of chairman as per rules.
