Bangladesh won gold medal in the recurve mixed team event of the ongoing 2022 Asia Cup World Ranking tournament stage-1 in Phuket, Thailand on Saturday.
The Bangladesh archery team comprising ace archer Ruman Sana and Nasrin Akhter pair brought the first success for the country as they beat their Indian rivals by 5-3 sets in the final to win the first gold in the ongoing tournament.
On the way to winning the gold, Bangladesh lost the first set by 34-37. However, Bangladesh did not give up the hope as Ruman-Nasrin pair staged a brilliant fight back and the second set ended 37-37 draw and eventually Bangladesh won the third and fourth set by 38-35 and 37-36 respectively.
Earlier on Friday last, Ruman Sana and Nasrin Akter pair set the final clash with India in the recurve mixed team event with a dominating performance eliminating their Kazakhstan rivals by 6-0 sets in the semifinal.
