The Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) has directed all of its divisional and district officials to collect samples of Napa syrup with batch number-32113121.
The directive was issued following the deaths of two children on Thursday night in Ashuganj upazila under Brahmanbaria district.
According to a notification signed by DGDA Director General Major General Mohammad Yousuf, the drug regulatory authority asked all its offices at divisional and district levels to collect samples of syrup and to send the report to the National Control Laboratory after performing tests.
At the same time, the notification also said that Napa syrup with batch number-32113121 has been banned for selling.
"According to media reports, two children of a family died after consuming paracetamol syrup 120mg/5ml made by Beximco Pharmaceutical (batch No. 32113121, date of production 12/2021 and date of expiry 11/2023)," the notification said.
