No oil trading without receipt from Friday

The government made receipt compulsory for trading edible oil from Friday.

AHM Safiquzzaman, the director-general of the National Consumers Right Protection Directorate, said this in a meeting with the retail and wholesale traders on Tuesday.

Mentioning that the country has adequate stock of oil to meet the demand during Ramadan, he said actions will be taken against those who are trying to raise prices creating an artificial crisis.

The official also said the different government agencies are working to control the unusual situation in the country's edible oil market.

However, the retail and wholesale traders at the meeting assured cooperation in operating business properly.
