Police and army members recovered the bullet-hit bodies of four young men from a forest in Bandarban district early Sunday.
The bodies were retrieved from beside a river in Mongbaitong Para area under Tarasa union between Rowangchhari and Ruma upazilas around 3 am.
Identities of the deceased - aged between 22 to 25 years - could not be known yet but police assume they might have been the members of Mog Liberation Party (MLP).
Rowangchhari Police Station officer in-charge Abdul Manna confirmed the matter.
Bandarban Police Superintendent Jerin Akhter told Jago News that the bodies were being sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
The locals, however, said they heard the sound of firing around 2 pm on Saturday but none went outside in fear.
Later around 3 am on Sunday, police and army men went to the spot and recovered the bodies, they added.
