Four people were killed and another was seriously injured as a pickup van hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Sonaimuri upazila of Noakhali district on Sunday night.
Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. All the deceased were auto-rickshaw passengers.
The incident took place in Motobi area under Bojra union around 7:45 pm, Chandraganj Highway Police Station officer in-charge Mridul Kanti Kuri confirmed to Jago News.
The injured was sent to Noakhali General Hospital and the bodies were kept at the facility morgue for autopsy, he said.
Sonaimuri Police Station officer in-charge Md Harun Or Rashid said the two vehicles were seized.
