The Election Commission search committee has made a shortlist of 20 people from a list of 322 nominees for the posts of chief election commissioner and other election commissioners.
The shortlist was made at the fifth meeting of the search committee held at Supreme Court Judges Lounge on Saturday.
The meeting was held from 11:15am to 1:15pm. The committee President and Supreme Court Appellate Division Justice Obaydul Hassan presided over the meeting.
Cabinet Division (coordination and reforms) Secretary Shamsul Arefeen told this to journalists after the meeting.
He said the search committee members unanimously made the shortlist of 20 people from the list of 322 nominees for EC formation. They will also hold several meetings to finalize the list.
However, the search committee members will hold sixth meeting at Supreme Court Judges Lounge at 4pm on Sunday.
