Abu Mohasin Khan, the father-in-law of movie actor Riaz, committed suicide in his flat in the capital’s Dhanmondi on Wednesday night.
He shot himself in his head with a pistol while reciting the Kalema. Showing the license of his weapon, he said, “It’s not illegal, it’s licensed and has also been renewed. I’m leaving.”
“I am 58 years old. My only son lives in Australia. I live alone at home. Son, daughter, wife, whatever I do for them, no one is really for anyone,” he said on Facebook live.
Mohasin said he was a cancer patient and had no business to operate anymore.
In 16-minute-long Facebook Live, he also made a detailed statement directing how and where he wishes to be buried.
Foyzur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dhanmondi zone) told Jago News that as far as we know, the deceased was the father-in-law of actor Riaz.
Ikram Ali, Officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station, said a man committed suicide by shooting himself with his gun. The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue.
