Former officer in-charge (dismissed) Pradeep Kumar Das and inspector Liaqat Ali have been sentenced to death in the murder case of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.
The court of Cox's Bazar District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Ismail handed down the verdict on Monday afternoon.

Major (retd) Sinha was killed in police firing at Baharchhara police check-post in Teknaf on the night of Eid-ul-Azha on July 31, 2020.
Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, elder sister of Sinha, filed a case with Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate Court after the incident on August 5.
Cox's Bazar's Teknaf Police Station's former officer in-charge Pradeep Kumar Das and Baharchhara police check-post's ex-inspector Liaqat Ali were made No. one, and two accused in the lawsuit respectively.
