Coronavirus: 21 new deaths, 10329 cases

Twenty-one more people died from coronavirus and 10,329 newly contracted the virus in the past 24 hours.

With this, the total fatalities and infections rose to 28,329 and 17,73,149 respectively, a health directorate press release on Saturday.

As many as 33,230 samples were collected, and 33,373 tested in the past day.

During the period, 1,109 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total number of recoveries to 15,63,478.

Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020. 

The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.

To date, the epidemic infected 370,878,130 people and killed 5,669,541 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.

However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 292,821,060 across the world.
