Tahsan gets bail in Evaly fraud case

The High Court has granted celebrity actor and singer Tahsan Khan anticipatory bail for six weeks in a fraud case filed by a customer of e-commerce platform Evaly.

The HC bench of Justice Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain and Justice Khizir Hayat on Thursday passed the order after a hearing.

Earlier on Wednesday, the actor prayed bail in the High Court.

On December 4 last year, Saad Nam, a customer of Evaly, filed the case against nine people with Dhanmondi Police Station in the capital.

Rest seven accused are actresses Rafiath Rashid Mithila and Sabnam Faria; Evaly's managing director and chief executive officer Mohammad Rassel, his wife and e-commerce company's chairman Nasrin; Akash, Arif, Taher, and Md Abu Taish Kayes.

The case statement said Tahsan, Mithila, and Sabnam Faria were in different positions of Evaly. Because of their presence and their various promotional talks, the plaintiff invested around Tk 3.18 lakh in the company but he was deceived.

Tahsan Khan was Evaly's Goodwill ambassador, Mithila lifestyle Goodwill ambassador, and Sabnam Faria chief public relations officer.
