Seba Prokashoni's Qazi Anwar Hossain dies

Founder of Seba Prokashoni and mystery novelist Qazi Anwar Hossain has passed away. He was 86.

He breathed his last at around 4:40 pm on Wednesday at BIRDEM General Hospital in the capital of Dhaka. 

His daughter-in-law Masuma Maimur confirmed the matter.

In a Facebook post, she said he was diagnosed with prostate cancer on October 31 last year and hospitalized five times. 

"It's all over after a brain stroke and a heart attack. He had been on life support since January 10, and today he left us (died)," she wrote. 

Qazi Anwar Hossain made the mystery-thriller story popular to the readers of Bangladesh through his publication.

He wrote numerous stories in 'Bidyut Roy', and 'Shamsuddin Nawab' pseudonym. 

Son of renowned mathematician and litterateur late Qazi Motaher Hossain, he was born on July 19, 1936.
