Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Nobel, husband of movie actress Raima Islam Shimu, who was found dead in a sack in Keraniganj, and their car driver Forhad on Monday morning.
The elite force interrogated them and seized a blood-stained private car from their possession.
The RAB along with police started a drive with them.
Confirming the matter to Jago News, Abdul Malek, Sub Inspector of Keraniganj Model Police Station, said a case is being processed to file.
According to the source, Shimu lived in Kalabagan area in the capital with her husband and their two children. She went missing on Sunday and later her relatives filed a general diary with Kalabagan Police Station.
Shimu’s brother Shahidul Islam Khokon said his brother-in-law Nobel used to beat his sister and he is a drug-addict.
In this connection, Kazi Romjanul Haque, Officer-in-charge of Keraniganj Police Station, said an injury mark was seen on her neck. It is suspected that it’s a murder and we are investigating it.
It is to be noted that, police found Shimu’s body in a sack near Hazratpur bridge at Keraniganj in Dhaka on Monday morning. Her body’s was kept at Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (SSMCH) for autopsy.
