Qatar adds Bangladesh to exceptional red list

Qatar has added several countries to its red list, including Greece, Portugal and Turkey, quoting the country's Public Health Ministry, reports Doha based Time Out Doha.

There are now 57 countries on Qatar’s red list, and nine destinations on the exceptional red list.

The new red list comes into effect at 7pm on Saturday January 8.

Vaccinated residents coming from red list countries will be exempt from hotel quarantine, but must take a PCR test 72 hours before arrival, and a second PCR within 36 hours of arrival. Unvaccinated residents will need to quarantine at home for seven days.

Vaccinated visitors will need to test 72 hours before arrival and book a quarantine hotel for two days.

Unvaccinated visitors will be subject to hotel quarantine for seven days, unless they have first-degree relatives living in Qatar and are arriving on pre-issued family visas. In this case, they will be able to quarantine at home on arrival.

Qatar has also updated its exceptional red list, with fully vaccinated residents expected to quarantine at home for two days upon arrival, and fully vaccinated tourists expected to quarantine in a hotel for two days.

Unvaccinated residents will need to hotel quarantine for seven days, while unvaccinated visitors are not allowed to enter Qatar.
