The Bangladesh government recorded 373 new COVID-19 cases and one death in the last 24 hours.
With this, the total infections stood at 15,83,726 and fatalities rose to 28,061, a health directorate press release said on Monday.
As many as 17,022 samples were collected, and 17,271 tested in the past day.
During the period, 323 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total number of recoveries to 15,47,750.
Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020.
The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.
To date, the epidemic infected 280,391,189 people and killed 5,418,562 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 250,509,637 across the world.
