Buddhist monk hacks another monk in Cox’s Bazar

A Buddhist monk, hailed from Myanmar, was wounded as his rival monk hacked him over grabbing power of a Buddhist temple of Cox’s Bazar district on Wednesday morning.The injured monk is Opel Ong Rakhine, 62.Officer-in charge of Sadar Police Station (Investigation) Bakthiar Uddin Chowdhury said Moy Ong Rakhine, a monk of Buddhist temple of the district stormed into the temple and hacked Opel Ong Rakhine with lethal weapons, leaving him critically injured over grabbing power in the morning and fled from the scene.Later, locals rescued Opel Ong from the pond of blood and sent to local hospital. As his condition deteriorating, he was shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital in the morning.
