Rangpur Metal Industries Limited (RMIL), a concern of country’s leading business conglomerate RFL Group, has introduced app controlled geyser in the market. Md. Moniruzzaman, Director of RMIL, unveiled the cover of the product through a program held at head office of PRAN-RFL group at the capital’s Badda on Thursday.
Md. Moniruzzaman said, “Geyser has now become an essential tool of human life. RFL always produces products according to consumers demand. The demand of geyser is increasing day by day due to massive changes in people’s lifestyle. This product was once almost dependent on imports. At present, only 30 percent of the total demand is imported. We are hoping that this product will not need to be imported in five years. It will be possible to meet the demand through local sources. After meeting the local demand, our plan is to export the product to different countries.”
He further said, “Rangpur Metal has been playing major role in reducing the import dependence of this product. The company is meeting about 45 percent of the market demand. Every year we introduce product with new design and technology to the market. The quality of the product is intact as it is made using best raw materials and automatic machine. With the development of this industry, employment is being created, on the other hand, our capacity to produce such product is increasing.”
Shariful Islam, Head of Marketing of RMIL, said, “The demand of geyser generally increases in winter season. We have launched app controlled geyser this year considering the demand of the buyers.”
He added that geyser can be turned on and off from anywhere with the help of the app. There is an opportunity to control the temperature of the geyser through the app. Moreover, electricity consumption due to use of geyser can be monitored through the app. The app will ring the alarm once the water is hot. Moreover, a specific time can be set for heating the water. The geyser will be turned on automatically at that specified time every day.
Currently, RFL has 13 different types of geysers. The prices of the geysers are between Tk 2600 and Tk 14,700. Customers will be able to purchase geysers from RFL’s Best Buy, Easy Build, Vision Emporium and exclusive dealer points. Moreover, customers can order products from the popular e-commerce site Othoba.com.
