Four people including three children were killed as a speedy train ran over them at college railway station area in Nilphamari sadar upazila around 8am on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Leena, 8, Mina, 7, Mominur Rahman, 4 and Shamim Hossen, 30. All of them were the inhabitants of Kundapukur union in the upazila. Shamim was killed while trying to rescue them.
Abdur Rauf, Officer-in-charge of Nilphamari Sadar Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
