The Higher Secondary Certificate and equivalent examinations of 2021 started today across the country after a gap of one year due to Coronavirus.
This year, 13,99,690 candidates are expected to sit for the HSC and equivalent examinations.
The HSC physics (theory) 1st paper examination is being held from 10:00am and continue till 11:30am while general science and food and nutrition science (theory) 1st paper (chemistry), general science and food and nutrition science (theory) 1st paper (biology), food and nutrition 1st paper and modern music (theory) 1st paper will take place from 2:00pm to 3:30pm.
The Alim Quran Majid examination is being held from 10:00am and continue till 11:30am. The examinations of three groups - science, commerce and humanities - will be held at different times in order to maintain physical distance among the candidates while the syllabuses and the durations of the examinations have also been reduced.
The HSC exams will end on December 30.
The exams for 2020 did not take place last year, with the results prepared based on the candidates' performance in previous public exams.
The classroom activities in all educational institutions across the country remained suspended from March 18, 2020 till September 11, 2021 due to the Covid situation.
