3 female JMB member put on 3-day remand

A Tangail Court on Monday placed three women members of banned Islamist militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to three-day remand in a case filed in connection with subversive activities.Senior Judicial Magistrate Abdullah Al Masum passed the ordered when Md Nazrul Islam, officer-in charge of Kalihati Police Station and investigation officer of the case produced them before the court and seek three-day remand.Those remanded are Rozina Begum, 30, wife of Mokshudul Islam Mojammel, hailing from Shaghata upazila of Gaibandha district, Shajada Akter Sathi, 22, wife Nazrul Islam, a resident of DEbganj upazila of Panchagarh district and Jannati alias Jemi, 18, wife of Abu Syed from Bogra district.Earlier, on July 5 in this year, acting on a tip off, law enforcers raided a house near the level crossing at Jokarchar in Kalihati and arrested the three women.Police also seized two machetes, one knife, a mobile phone containing videos of slaughtering techniques and a script containing techniques of making bombs, he added.A case was filed against the women and their husbands with Kalihati police under the anti-terrorism act.
