A total of 100 chairman candidates have been elected unopposed in the third phase of union parishad elections. They all are the Awami League nominated candidates.
Apart from, 337 member candidates and 132 member aspirants for reserved seats for women have also been uncontested.
Asaduzzaman, Joint Secretary of the Election Commission, confirmed the matter to Jago News on Saturday.
However, A total of 72 chairman candidates were elected unopposed in the first phase. 81 candidates were also elected uncontested as union parishad (UP) chairmen in the second phase.
To be noted, the third phase elections to 1,007 union pairshads will be held on November 28.
