Six members of a family were burnt in a fire at their residence at Kattoli area of Akbar Shah Thana in Chattogram early Tuesday.
They are Sajeda Begum, 39, Shahjahan Sheikh, 25, Dilruaba Begum, 18, Mahiya Akter, 9, Jibon Sheikh, 14 and Swadhin Sheikh, 17.
They were admitted to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital.
In this connection, Newton Dash, Deputy Assistant Director of Chattogram Fire Service, said being informed, a team of fire service was sent to the spot but the local people doused the flame. Six members of family were burnt in the fire.
The reason behind the fire will be known after investigation, the fire service officer said.
