A court has granted bail to cricketer Nasir Hossain, wife Tamima Sultana Tammi and his mother-in-law Sumi Akter in a case filed by Tammi’s first husband Md Rakib Hassan.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim passed the order after they surrendered before the court on Sunday.
Earlier on September 30, the court summoned them to appear before it today.
On the day, Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) submit an investigation report saying that the marriage of Nasir and Tammi is illegal.
Later, Rakib’s lawyer Ishrat Jahan filed an arrest warrant petition against them and later the court summoned them.
To be noted, the wedding ceremony of Nasir and Tamima was held at a restaurant in Uttara on February 14.
On February 24, Rakib filed the case claiming that Tamima married Nasir without divorcing him which is illegal under religious and state laws.
