Seven killed in Rohingya camp attack

Seven people were killed and several others injured in an attack in a Rohingya camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar district early Friday.

The deceased were identified as Hafez Md Idris, 32, a resident of Block-J under Camp-12, Ibrahim Hossain, 24, son of late Mufti Habibullah of Block-29 under Camp-9, students Azizul Haque, 22, and Md Amin, 32, volunteers of Block-H under Camp-18, madrasa teacher Nur Alam alias Halim, 45, of Block-F under Camp-18, madrasa teacher Hamidullah, 55, of FDMN Camp-24, and madrasa student Nur Kaiser, 15, of Block-H under Camp-18.

The miscreants attacked Darul Ulum Nadwatul Ulama Al-Islamia Madrasa at Block H-52 under FDMN Camp-18 around 4:15 am, leaving four FDMN members staying there dead on the spot and several others injured, 8th APBN deputy captain Kamran Hossain working there told Jago News. 

Among the injured, three died on the way to hospital, he said, adding that a man named Mujib was detained in this connection.

Eighth APBN captain Shihab Kaiser Khan said they are not yet clear about reasons behind the attack.
