Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country, reports BSS.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur division, at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions, a met release said.
Moderately heavy to heavy falls may occur at some isolated places over northern part of the country, it added.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The low over West Bengal and adjoining northwestern part of Bangladesh has become unimportant.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay, the release said.
Country's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 34.4 degrees Celsius at Jashore and minimum temperature today was 23.2 degrees Celsius at Tangail.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00am today was recorded 121 millimeters (mm) at Tangail.
