Four children, aged between five and ten, drowned at village Uttardrum in Kutubida of Cox’s Bazar on Thursday afternoon.The victims were Sumi Akter, Mejbah, Nayan Moni, and Tiya Moni, of the village.Kutubdia police officer-in-charge Aung Shadhowai said the village was flooded with water resulting from abnormal tidal wave.The children were walking on the road around 4:00pm and suddenly one of them slipped into the water.Three others, subsequently, rushed to help but they also disappeared.
Locals, later, recovered the bodies and a gloomy curtain covered the area on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
