A court in Dinajpur on Sunday sentenced a woman and her so-called lover to life in jail for the murder of her husband.
The lifers are Fahmina Begum, 43, wife of murdered Abu Salam Molla, a resident of Mozaffar Hossain colony, and Manik Robidas alias Art Manik, 45, of Niyamatpur Natunbazar area in Parbatipur upazila.
They were also fined Tk 50,000 each, in default, they will have to serve another six months in jail.
Judge Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan of the District and Sessions Judge Court handed down the verdict this afternoon.
Police's court inspector Moniruzzaman Roy confirmed the matter.
The case statement said police recovered the hanging body of grocery trader Abu Salam Molla from his home on October 25, 2015.
Later, the deceased's elder brother Abu Hossain Molla lodged a case with Parbatipur Police Station in this connection, accusing his sister-in-law Fahmina, and her so-called lover Manik of killing his brother.
