Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) recorded four more fatalities at its Covid-19 unit in the last 24 hours till 6am today, raising the death toll to 152 so far this month, reports BSS.
However, the previous day's fatality figure was two, while on Thursday the death figure was just one which was the ever-lowest one in the hospital since the second wave of the pandemic hit the country around six months back.
Earlier, the number of casualties was 340 in August, 566 in July and 405 in June, health officials said.
RMCH Director Brigadier General Dr Shamim Yazdani told newsmen that the two deceased were the residents of Chapainawabganj and one each from Rajshahi and Kushtia.
Among the deaths, two were female and two male.
Of the fresh fatalities, the two were tested positive for Covid-19 and two others had its symptoms.
Seventeen more patients were admitted to the designated Covid-19 wards of the hospital in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of admitted patients to 114.
Twenty-two other patients returned home from the RMCH Covid-19 unit after being cured during the time.
Meanwhile, 15 more people tested positive after testing 215 samples in Rajshahi's two laboratories on Saturday, showing a 6.97 percent positivity rate against 5.61 percent on Friday.
