Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) recorded two more fatalities at its Covid-19 unit in the last 24 hours till 6am today, raising the death toll to 148 so far this month, reports BSS.
However, the previous day's fatality figure was five, while on Thursday the death figure was one which was the ever-lowest one in the hospital since the second wave of the pandemic hit the country around six months back.
Earlier, the number of casualties was 340 in August, 566 in July and 405 in June, health officials said.
RMCH Director Brigadier General Dr Shamim Yazdani told newsmen that the two deceased were the residents of Rajshahi.
Of the fresh fatalities, the two had symptoms of Covid-19.
Eighteen more patients were admitted to the designated Covid-19 wards of the hospital in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of admitted patients to 122.
Ten other patients returned home from the RMCH Covid-19 unit after being cured during the time.
Meanwhile, 10 more people tested positive after testing 178 samples in Rajshahi's two laboratories on Friday, showing a 5.61 percent positivity rate against 3.94 percent on Thursday.
