Former cricket coach and cricket writer Jalal Ahmed Chowdhury has passed away.
He breathed his last at 11:25am on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at Anwar Khan Modern Hospital in Dhaka.
Debabrata Paul, General Secretary of Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh, confirmed the death to Jago News.
On September 1, Jalal was admitted to the hospital due to breathing problem. He was discharged from the hospital after taking treatment.
Later, on September 15, he was again admitted to the hospital. He was on ventilation support on September 17.
Jalal, who was a prominent cricketer in the 70s and 80s, is also considered as ‘sir’ by many established cricketers of the country.
