A court has sentenced two people to death and life-term imprisonment to four others in a case filed for the murder of college student Sohag Serniabat at Wazirpur upazila in Barishal.
Judge T M Musa of Public Security Disruption Crime Suppression Tribunal of Barishal passed the order around 11am on Wednesday.
The court also acquitted ten people from the case.
The death-row convicts are Jiaul Haque Lalon and Riyad Sarker and the people who got life-term imprisonment are Mamun, Imran, Biplob and Wasim Sarder.
On September 14 in 2014, Sohag was hacked to death by the convicts at Rakhaltola area in Wazirpur upazila.
Later, Sohag’s uncle Khorshed Alam filed a case against 13 people with Wazirpur Police Station. After the investigation, police submitted a charge sheet before the court on November 22 in 2014.
